I was in NZ last week on a Hurley’s Guided tour when I used the guide, Eddies #5 glide. I had been using my #6 Aire and some the tighter waters were causing me problems. With the Glide I was able to better direct my casts, especially under the willows. It has power without stiffness and requires less grunt from the fisherman. All in all a lovely rod to use.

I have the 4wt. Good accuracy from 30 feet to way out. Very light and a pleasure to use.

I gave it a maiden flight in Tasmania a week ago,and it was sooooo much better than my old one or my mates redington. So easy to cast and wonderfully light and heaps of power to put some pressure on those bigger trout. A stunning rod and glad I spent the extra. $$$$$.

Having both the #2wt (7’6″) & the #5wt (8’6″) in my Red Tag Trout Tours guiding business and a large number of other Gavin’s rods, I put the Glide series down as the very best of an excellent range of outfits.
Haven taken the #5wt to NZ Southland with Gavin last year it was delight to use and handled their aggressive browns up to 5lbs+ with ease and you can cast (and catch) all day.
In Tasmania. on our smaller, intimate rivers and streams requiring delicate presentations, accuracy and resilience the #2wt is in a class of its own. Whether it is gently presenting #16 to #10 size dries or getting 3lbs+ wild browns to the net the this Glide unit does it all.

delivered very promptly, it is a lovely lively little rod, accurate and forgiving, great feel when using with power beyond its size.

I think responsive is the best way to describe it, a short cast, a long cast, turn a fish, it just seems to do whatever is needed.

Received a #4 glide in the mail yesterday…yet to hit the water but spent half an hour running it through it’s paces on one of our dams…great feel and perfect light action for our skinny New England water…will provide a second update in due course…many thanks to Gavin and the crew for faultless service

Had a glide 4# for about a month and fished small New England streams….the shorter 8’6” length was great in amongst the trees and the action ideal to get small dry flies to where I wanted
